My great gandfather's father, Isaac Vernon came from this county. He is listed as being in the county in 1850. I beleive it is him. His son my great grandfather is named Isaac Asbury Vernon. In the Arkansas census of 1870, it shows Isaac and his brother living in St Francis Township near Jopneboro, Ar. Thanks for the help in advance. Mark Gatlin

Looking for Vernon's in Tywappity Township in 1880's. JJ (JL?) Vernon died about 1880-1881. Would like to know his full name and the name of his wife. He died before his last son John Albert Vernon was born September 20, 1881. John's mother died when he was around 2 and he was taken to Oklahoma by an uncle Howell Rigsbee. Would appreciate any information. Thank you.
I am looking for ANY information on the VICKERY family of Bird Point.
George Sidney VICKERY moved to Bird Point from Wayne County, KY, sometime
betweeen 1886 and 1890. My grandfather, John Estill VICKERY was born
there
in 1890. His siblings were Clarence VICKERY, Oliver Francis VICKERY,
and Edna Cecil VICKERY. I have a photograph of a store called Vickery's
Mercantile, which I believe was in Bird Point. The story goes that
there was a flood that killed a member of the family, and caused them to
move to Saint Louis. They were in Saint Louis in 1920 according to
the census.
Would like ANY info--cemetery records, newspaper accounts, vitals.
Will be happy to exchange for research in Virginia. 6/10/98
