I am seeking info on my grandfather, George Washington Hammontree. He left Pickens County, Ga sometime around 1910. He remarried and had 10 or 11 children, somewhere in Mo. I don't know where. His son by his first marriage, William R (Willie) Hammontree and his wife Rebecca Matilda Burrell Hammontree went to Missouri with him. They drew their last social security checks in East Prarie, she in June1977, he in Nov 1977. My mother and Willie wrote to each other, and visited as long as he lived. There was a son named George that came here(Pickens Co,Ga) and stayed for a while (in the 1950's), then returned to Missouri. I would like to have any information about this family.George W Hammontree still has a son living here, Christopher C Hammontree, age 98, re-roofed and painted his own house last year, still plants a vegetable garden.

Hanes,Haines,Haynes, Eli and Mariah settled in MO for a time, where one of their children, Lavina was born in 1860....one child, william, possibly died there, are they listed in the 1860 census? or does anyone know if William is buried in your county?
I am looking for the burial place for Robert HARPER, William L. HARPER and Nancy HARPER all in Mississippi County. Robert and Nancy are believed to have died around1873-1881 I am not sure of the date of Williams death. His sister
Sarah E. HARPER/LOVE wife of William LOVE is also suppose to be buried there. I have some papers which tell of William HARPERS marriage to Fannie OSTNER in Mississippi Co. and the purchase of land in Bertrand. I grew up in Anniston Mo. I am searching my lineage. My fathers name is George W. Hatton. His father was named Delbert Hatton. George Hatton married T. Orene Seay. My grandfather Delbert married Irene Glass. Irenes father was named Major Glass. My grandfather, Delbert, left home with his broters at age 12. My father George does not remember his grandfathers name(Delberts father) and his grandmother (Delberts mother) deid shortly after Delbert was born. I was raised in Anniston Mo. My Father (George Hatton) and Mother (Orene Hatton formerly Seay) still live there. My Grandfather lived there till he died (born 1895 died 1986) his name was Delbert Hatton. My grandmother died there also her name was Irene Hatton (formerly Glass). My grandmother on my mothers side of the family died this year 1998 her name was Eula Seay, her husband was named William A Seay he died in Anniston in 1963 born 1904. My grand fathers father worked on the Rail Road in New Madrid. His wife (my great grandmother)died shortly after delivery of my grandfather and great uncle (Burt Hatton). My grandmother (fathers side) father was named Major Glass and his wife was a Dalton. My grandmother on my mothers side was named Eula Jackson her father was John R. Jackson nd mother was Lula Sons. My grandfather on mothers sides father was James Seay and mother was Iva Day. I dont know if this will help anyone or if anyone can help me but here is the info I know. Looking for any information on the family of Dr.Joseph Lindsay Haw. Dr.Haw was the son of Rev.Uriel Haw and Elizabeth Moore Haw. He was born in 1836, married Mary Vernon and had 12 children. In 1882, he moved his family to Farmington. Dr. Haw's son, J.Moore Haw, was the prosecuting Attorner of Mississippi county. I am particularly looking for information on one of their daughters, Lou Anna Haw. Ms.Haw was a school teacher and taught at Trickey School in Longtown in 1889/90. She returned to Farmington, where she lived until her death in 1942. Ms Haw was a teacher of my grandmother, Dorothea Winkler Schott, and I have a letter Ms Haw wrote to my grandmother in 1890. I have a picture of Ms Haw, an obituray on her father, Dr Joseph Haw, but would like to learn more about her.

Robert O Hill was born in AL Sept 1864 (census source) and died in Missouri in the mid to late 1940's. Robert is buried in a cemetery in Dogwood, name of the cemetery is unknown to me; I do know that my father said there is a church at the cemetery that he discribed as being white of color and having several steps leading into it. I know this isn't much to go on but I'm in hopes someone out there would know this cemetery as I would love to have the tombstone information, as well as the cemeteries name. This is my ggg-grandfather and I'm at a standstill with his line and hope with th is information I could get state vital

My husband's grandmother is buried in East Prarie. She died of a brain tumor in 1962. We were hoping to run across an obit on her. We're not having good luck finding out where she was born. They say she was born on Indian Territory in OK in 1894. She was born Mattie Elizabeth Perkins. She was married 2 or 3 times. She and my husband's grandfather, John M. Hudson were married in the 1920,s. During the last days of her life she lived with her daughter, Katie (Brown- Davis), in East Prarie where she is burried.
