John J. Combs, b. Jan 10th 1867 in Hickman Ky. d. May 7th 1947 in Cairo Il. m. Oct 5th 1892 to Dora M. Fugate b. Dec 24 th 1872 near East Prairie Mo. d. Jun 18th 1955 in Cairo Il. Dora was the daughter of James J. Fugate and Virginia Conyers. John J. Combs settled in the Millar Community of Mississippi County, Mo. in 1875 at age 8 with his parents, Nicholas Combs and Harriet Francis Meacham. In 1927 He moved to Cairo Il, where he lived till his death in 1947. John and Dora had10 children.
