I am seeking info on my grandfather, George Washington Hammontree. He left Pickens County, Ga sometime around 1910. He   remarried and had 10 or 11 children, somewhere in Mo. I don't know where. His son by his first marriage, William R (Willie) Hammontree and his wife Rebecca Matilda Burrell Hammontree went to Missouri with him. They drew their last social security checks in East Prarie, she in June1977, he in Nov 1977. My mother and Willie wrote to each other, and visited as long as he lived. There was a son named George that came here(Pickens Co,Ga) and stayed for a while (in the 1950's), then returned to Missouri. I would like to have any information about this family.George W Hammontree still has a son living here, Christopher C Hammontree, age 98, re-roofed and painted his own house last year, still plants a vegetable  garden.
