My great grandfather is Johnnie Calhoun who appears in the 1910 US Census. He is identified as a 30 year old railroad worker, married to Zillia, with daugher Iva May and son David. He and Zillia are married about five years at the time. He is a railroad worker. After that, he disappears, I have no information about him. Zillia is shown as marrying a Fred Welshans at the 1920 Census and she passes away November 1935. Please e-mail Bulldog927@aol.com

Hi, I am researching the McClendon/McClennan/McClenen/McClaren family that more than likely lived here from 1881 to 1899 or so. The spelling of the name could have been any variation of the above, I've seen it spelled numerous ways. Any info or help would be appreciated. Thanks, Audrey

COX, Robert N., was at Bird Point PO, in Missouri,  in 1898 according to Civil war records.  He married a L. (Lizzy ?) MILLER in May of 1898 and was hopefully still living in the area at the time.  He might have had children from a previous marriage living with him.  According to Civil War records, he died in Dec of 1902.  Would anyone know if he was listed on the Census records for 1900, or where he may have been married.  If he married in 1898 in Mississppi County, would a marriage record be available.  I live in SC and any help would be appreciated.  Robert was born about 1842.

Looking for any family members named COUCHMAN in the East Prairie Missouri area. They lived in Putnam County Indiana for many years, but at some point were in East Prairie. Jacob Couchman died there in 1909, and I am assuming he was probably living with his son. In 1915 his son Amos said he lived in Moorhouse Missouri on his Vigo County Indiana marriage license, and his son Nile Newton Couchman married a woman named Minnie Neal on July 5, 1910. I cannot find this marriage in Indiana. Minnie was supposedly born in TN, and left him and their child and was thought to be in Missouri. Therefore, I believe they were married in either Missouri or Tennessee. So information on any of these Couchmans would be helpful, and I have certainly hit the wall on Minnie. She is the only person in the genealogy that I have no parents, birth, death, or remarriage information - just a date of marriage to Nile, place unknown, and a date of divorce in Sullivan County Indiana - he had no def! inite knowledge of her whereabouts at the time of divorce, but secured the divorce in order to remarry. Please reply to lmitch@iquest.net as I am not a list member.

I found this on a CA list: SURPRISE VALLEY RECORD - CEDARVILLE, MODOC COUNTY, CAL WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26, 1935 HAND IS INJURED WITH HAND AXE Dan Craig, Jr., the genial clerk at the D. S. Denehy Company’s store, while performing the task that no doubt his wife should have been doing (splitting wood), had the misfortune of having the ax slip off of a piece of wood and badly lacerating the forefinger of his left hand. Dan is now making the rounds with a bandaged hand, holding on to a small tin can, thus keeping the injured member in place. it would have been too bad, says Dan, if the ax had been sharp, for it would probably have severed the cords in the hand and a likelihood of cutting the finger bone in two. However, during the next two weeks, Dan will let his wife take care of that exertion expended at the woodpile. MARRIED IN MISSOURI Word was received by friends of the marriage of Miss Katherine Hudspeth, daughter of A. D. Hudspeth of Sacramento to Marshall Craig in Kansas City, Missouri on the 9th of June. Mrs. Craig is well known here having gone through grammar and high schools in Cedarville. Mr. Craig is partner at law with Senator J. C. McDowell in Charleston, Missouri, where they will make their future home. Congratulations.

I am looking for info on my husband's great...grandparents: Lorenzo Dow Crockett and Harriett Barfield Crockett of Henson Station in Mississippi Co., MO, formerly from Humphreys and Benton Counties in TN. I have poor copy of her obituary from the Charleston Enterprise dated Feb 20, 1885; she died Feb 15, 1885. He died in May, 1890. Much of the time he spent in a jail in St. Louis and in the penitentary in Chester, Illinois, for passing counterfeit money in TN (maybe MO too). He apparently was a scoundrel. :) They had 9 children: Robert, David, Emma, Henry Greerer, Jessie, John, Maggie Jay, Hattie Gay, and Mattie (Earnest Charles) or Dock. My husband plan to come to Charleston in the not too distant future. Just hoped someone may already have further information. Thanks. dotty crockett

Genry and Josephine were parents of Henry Tarascon Cummins who married Lydia Jane WELLER/WALLER 1860. Henry and Lydia Jane were parents to Clinton B/D Cummins, b 1867; m Sarah Emma SHELBY 1887. I am told that Clinton B/D was born in Mississippi County, MO although I do not know how long the family was there. I would also like to learn for certain the spelling of Lydia Jane's surname for a WALLER family resided in the same neighborhood of PA/KY as did Henry G. Cummins' ancestors. Thank you.
